What I'm saying is that how the 1:5 rule works with Horus Forts is very clearly defined in the documentation available on this forum.

What I'm also saying is that on the Dawwar server, it is not working according to the documentation.

Support is ignoring the documentation and telling me it works differently. They can't point to any documentation for their "explanation" and their explanation basically is that the 1:5 rule is ignored a lot despite the documentation, but we aren't going to tell you what the details are.

In other words, there's a huge bug in their program and they're calling it a "feature" instead of fixing it. "The program is working just fine."

If I'm going to play this game, I need to understand how it's supposed to work. If I have clear documentation about how it works, and it doesn't work that way, then it becomes frustrating to play the game. The development of effective strategy goes out the window when bugs are treated as features.

Very, very frustrating that they are being so dismissive of this bug.

We got merged into the new Dawwar server and are finding that the application of the 1:5 rule for Attack Protection is not working properly. Troops from stronger players in the Horus Fort are being ignored when applying the 1:5 rule for a player.

I have contacted support about the problem and included documentation from this forum on Attack Protection on how it's supposed to work. However, they're saying that it operates the same way as the Tambo in Tentlan. That contradicts their own documentation, which they seem to be ignoring.

I suspect that the Dawwar server was not configured properly when it was set up. We need the game to work as documented.

Hopefully we can get a developer involved to determine what the problem is.

That's a great idea and there are other games out there that provide those kind of translation buttons.

Not holding my breath, though, for any improvement here.

It's been the entire Lionmoon infrastructure that seems to be failing. Can't get to any of their websites when it's down.

I don't know how many people that have working on any updates. It's all a matter of money; if you have the income from the game, then there are usually some updates. If the income is not there, or it's being diverted elsewhere, then updates are postponed ad infinitum.

I don't think this game is going to survive unless it gets new management or a set of new investors.

When the server I'm on first started up, we would typically have over 4000 players active at any given time. The server's not even a year old at this point, so the attrition is pretty brutal. I'm curious as to how many players they're getting on the new servers at the beginning - but not curious enough to sign up on one of them to look.

Well, the server I'm on is pretty quiet. Chat says the number of players online is 118. Not that anyone has used the public chat in several months; I'm not sure what 118 players online really means. The #2 player called it quits this week and deleted his account off the server; he ended with a little over 800 million points.

I'm just farming at this point. The tribe I'm in is pretty inactive at this point.

A little disappointed that I didn't get any kind of response to my suggestions, though I'm not surprised. I thought the enticement of some revenue might at least generate some interest. Oh well.

I have a goal to get to a certain number of points and then I may call it quits. Though upgrades have become expensive, they generate a large number of points. Unfortunately, it's taking an increasingly long time to generate the resources required to move up some levels. My next Geometry level up will require almost 3.5 billion papyrus and that will take a few days.

One would hope that there would be some interest in retaining players who just want to farm and see how high they can get, but it's evidently not there. Too bad, because the game could have some real potential if there were development time dedicated to improving it.

    Hello!

I recognize that the Devs have limited resources available to add new game features, so my suggestions here are for features / options that will increase revenue from the game for them. These will mostly be new options in the Store that can be purchased for gems. They are designed to provide options to higher end players to continue expanding beyond the upgrade ceilings that they hit, by spending some money.

The 1:5 rule should continue to provide protection for lower end players. Competition may increase among higher end players because they can expand / upgrade beyond the limits that exist today.

So, here goes, for what it's worth. These should not require significant development time. At this point, I believe our best options for feature enhancements to the game are those that can be tied to revenue enhancement for the company.

    - Create new purchase options in the Store to fill up the warehouse for the current city, or fill up the warehouses in all of a player's cities. These would be patterned after the fill up wheat (Geb) and fill up population (Anah) purchase options that currently exist. Suggested price would be 500 gems for the current city and 1200 gems for all cities. This could have the side effect of increasing Urraeus option (expand warehouse capacity) purchases.

    - Add an advantage to the Nitocris blessing to have a queue for each construction / research / recruitment type instead of having the main categories (construction, research, recruitment) in their own queues. This would allow players to continue upgrading other buildings when a long wait time construction upgrade (like Warehouse) is in progress. When you get to the high end, it can take weeks for some of the construction upgrades. This would result in more sales of Nitocris, which I don't think get's bought as much as the others, and might even justify a price increase in that particular blessing. This would mean, for instance, that instead of having one queue for construction, you would have a queue for each building type.

    - Add a purchase option to enable the player to convert wheat to other resources in the market. This would be a bonus that could be purchased for 7 days. Suggested price would match the 7 day resource production increase options currently available (Desher, Khenet, etc.) at 300 gems. It would be effective for all of a player's cities.

    - Consider adding a $200 purchase category for gems at an additional discount. Increase discount for Happy Hour sales. Make it attractive for a higher end player to spend that much in one shot. If players take advantage of the new Shop options listed, they'll need to buy more gems each month.

    - Consider creating 7 day and/or 30 day VIP passes that combine some of the above and other benefits at a discount.

Please feel free to add any additional purchase options that you think might be of interest to players who are willing to pay.

Your thoughts and constructive criticisms are also welcome. I'll be interested to see if this particular carrot attracts any attention.

I agree. Any information provided about a player's experiences is beneficial.

I still don't think that the Quests have any end - though I'm still waiting for the bald guy to come back.

I took a look at the Quests on the Wiki link and I think what's recorded there is what that player has achieved; it doesn't appear to be a complete list. For instance, the Rahotep (bald guy) last update was earlier this month, which means he's updating Quests as he accomplishes them.

I hit the Rahotep Quests pretty hard and the rewards recorded in the Wiki are significantly less than what I was getting for clay, granite and papyrus. It doesn't appear to be a complete list, but rather a "work in progress".

I've lost the bald guy, too. But I suspect he will come back eventually as I get enough of the other Quests done to trigger him. He's been gone before and has come back. I still have the other two available.

My black cat lady is pestering me for Mummification level 34. Reward is 4 lapis, so I'll do it at some point. That one's not on the Quest list.

Congrats on the good Nomad haul!

Aton, I don't have every Quest completed. Sometimes one of the categories goes away for a while, but it typically comes back later. That seems to especially happen if I concentrate on one category, such as building up troops, without doing the others.

At this point, the Quests seem to want you to upgrade three levels or researches to finish them. And it's always three higher than where you currently are. I suspect that they don't really ever end. However, the benefit of doing them becomes questionable, such as upgrading your Sundisk past level 10 for the quest. And of course, since you're going to higher levels, the quests for construction or research get rather expensive.

That's why I was concentrating on troops. The quests were incremental (add another 500 Medjays) and the rewards actually started to be worth it, such as 40 million clay. But it's gone for me at this point. I'm hoping it will come back...

I don't think there is a limit to how high your levels can go. However, I've found that some buildings quit giving added benefits at certain levels, or the diminishing rates of return just aren't worth it anymore. For instance:

Market - reduces time to 30 minutes at level 41 and gives no additional benefit at levels higher than that.

Sundisk - caps out luck at level 10 for 10% and then gives no additional luck after that.

Sekhmet - smaller incremental reductions in recruiting time at higher levels. Don't know at what level there are no more reductions, but the lowest anything appears to go is 5 seconds. Above level 40, some of the lower level troops still above 5 seconds only show one second reductions after several level upgrades. Anubis and Scorpion troops still give decent reductions, but they are getting incrementally smaller as the levels get higher.

The real problem with higher construction or research levels is that they get abominably expensive. For me, Geometry cost went over a billion papyrus at level 46. Alchemy went over a billion granite at level 35. Granite production went over a billion clay at level 51, and so on. The most costly resource for a level upgrade is where you have to upgrade your warehouse capacity to. And warehouse upgrades are heavily time constrained at the higher levels, reaching over a week for a level upgrade somewhere between level 60 and 70.

Obviously you can reduce those costs or times through other research or building level upgrades, but those also get expensive and eventually you just get to the point where it takes a while to collect enough resources to do any upgrade at all. While you can get significant point boosts for high level upgrades, the pool of players you can attack can also become significantly constrained.

    Good luck climbing the ladder!

Under the FAQs and Guides , Defensive Strategies, there's this blurb about Sekhmet Attack Protection purchased in the store:

Just looking for some clarification on what you can or cannot do when you've purchased AP from the store:

    • I realize that you cannot attack other players. Does it just not allow you to attack until the AP expires, or will initiating a player attack disable the AP you purchased?
    • Can you still spy on other players when you have AP enabled?
    • Can you send troops to other players in your tribe when you have AP enabled?
    • Is there anything else that will disable the Sekhmet AP you have purchased or does it need to expire before you can do anything?

I searched the forum and couldn't find any existing information on the above, so any clarification would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
