Missing troops that were killed, when the enemies troops were killed first, so there should not have been ANY troop losses

I lost 8,000 charioteers, attacking an inactive player AFTER i had wiped out ALL his troops. So i attacked his troops, wiped them all out, then sent in 8 lots of 1,000 charioteers to clean out all his resources, but somehow, he had troops in there that killed all my charioteers...this should NEVER have happened, and i have attack reports and spy reports after the hits to back up what i'm saying, so please give me back my 8,000 charioteers, as it took me months and months to train over 8,000 of them, and they should NEVER have been killed, so please return them to me.
