Development Update - December 2021

  • Greetings Pharaohs,


    It's been a long time since we've shared an update of what we are working on and we think the time is right to tell you more about it. So, what have we been up to?


    We've hinted at this before, but I'm happy to confirm officially that we are currently working on a completely new, redesigned and upgraded version of Anocris for mobile devices. This will not be a sequel or a separate game, but an upgrade for everyone currently playing; all your progress will carry over to the new version.


    Development is progressing well; in 2020 we grew our team of artists and UI designers and in 2021 we did the same with our development team. We were aiming for a 2021 release but, as it often happens in the game development world, as we progressed the scope and ambition of the project grew, and so we have not been able to deliver as fast as we hoped. We intended this to be a surprise release, hence why we chose to stay silent for so long, but since we were not able to meet our 2021 release target we thought it was only right to at least let you know that we are still alive and still dedicated to make Anocris awesome in the long term. We are now targeting a mid to late 2022 launch; we hope to be able to share more in future updates until then.


    If you play our other game, you may also have noticed that we've made a similar post over there. In case you are curious, this is because, yes, we are indeed working simultaneously on new versions of both games, which we hope to release at roughly the same time. Working on two fully fledged games does increase the complexity of the project, which is why we had to grow our team, but don't worry, both are progressing well ;)
